Notes in the margins.

Trying something unexpected is easier when it does not erase what came before. Can a person play freely and still understand where the result came from?

For the Afterimage study, the source is part of the idea. The experiment should invite discovery while keeping the route back understandable.

Try the strange idea. Keep a path home.

A clever mechanism needs a reason to belong in someone’s day. A website can help a person understand a business. A network can make their work easier, if it makes sense to the person living with it.

The working question is simple: what does this make easier, and how will we know?
