LikeStyle Labs · Field Book 01
Everything begins as a question in the margin.
This is where I sketch, build, test, break, and refine ideas about human connection, creative tools, publishing, place, privacy, and useful technology. Some are operating now. Some are still becoming. None arrived fully formed.
Not a portfolio. A workshop with the doors left open.
Leonardo’s notebooks moved freely between bodies, water, wings, machines, proportion, and light. Labs follows that same permission to connect disciplines: observe carefully, draw the mechanism, build the smallest real thing, and let the result change the question.
Observe
Begin with something human that technology has made awkward, opaque, stale, or unnecessarily fragile.
Imagine
Let the idea cross boundaries before deciding what category, interface, or business it is supposed to become.
Make
Turn the sketch into an experience someone can actually see, touch, question, and use.
Revise
Keep the source, the evidence, and the unanswered questions visible enough to change course honestly.
Studies in progress
Five questions. Five mechanisms taking shape.
Study 01 · Bluedoor · Protected prototype + founding-circle research
What if the plan came before the small talk?
Study 02 · Afterimage · iPhone prototype in active development
What if creative software left the original intact?
Study 03 · EventDatabase · Discovery foundation; live ingestion next
What if local discovery could admit when information is stale?
Study 04 · Foundry · Portable site system in operation
What if expressive websites stayed operationally dependable?
Study 05 · Foundry Control · Managed owner workflow in development
What if owners could change the site without surrendering the source?
The Field Book · Notes from LikeStyle Labs
The thinking belongs beside the things being built.

How to read the notes
Five marks in the margin.
- Question
- An observation that is still opening the work.
- Experiment Log
- A belief made specific enough to test.
- Field Note
- A principle or decision discovered while making.
- Revision
- A belief changed by the evidence, including useful failure.
- Marginalia
- A fragment, sketch, or unresolved thought worth keeping.
Applied work · Ideas operating in the world
The workshop is tested by what survives outside it.

Beauty Medica · Foundry Medical
A care journey instead of a treatment catalog.

ToddWaxStudios · Creative Foundry
Structure that does not flatten the artist’s voice.
The notebook stays open.
Labs will change as the questions change. Follow the Field Book for new observations, experiments, decisions, and revisions—or begin with the study that makes you curious enough to step closer.
